This article (

I think a fair amount of people, especially in the US feel they should give to charity and so they do. Which in itself is great, except many people don't actually want to bother with finding a charity who is going to use their money most efficiently. So there people wanted to feel better about themselves give and feel better but the help is still not reaching those in need, something the contributor will never research and there will never know.
ReplyDeleteThen for those who do research and find charities who are able to hold to their word they find the options of who they wish to give to are relatively small. There are a good number of solid charities that are also able to make a big difference in their selected fields and locations, but being able to make a global impact is yet outside the reach more most.
Governmental Aid has become so politicized it is hard to see when we are really giving to help ourselves, giving to appear to be doing the 'right' thing, or actually giving and giving in a manner where the local population of the receiving country will feel the impact. (If and when the money actually arrives) The sad part is anytime a big country comes into a small local market and tries to provide a good or service they are inevitably putting local workers out of business, but if the bigger country does nothing then they are shunned by the world for being idle.
I personally have hope for micro-loans. Even they are skating on thin ice in many places of the world...
